Election Commission Announces Important Dates for 36 Constituencies​

The Assam State Election Commission announced on Friday that polling for the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council will be held on April 2, 2025. The council elections will cover all 36 constituencies in the region.

Key Dates for the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council Election 2025​

• Nomination Filing Deadline: Candidates intending to contest the elections must file their nominations by March 15, 2025.
• Scrutiny of Nominations: The review and scrutiny process of nomination papers will take place on March 17, 2025.
• Publication of Valid Candidates: The final list of eligible candidates will be published the same day, March 17, 2025.
• Withdrawal of Candidature: The last date for withdrawal of nominations is set for March 19, 2025.

Voting and Counting Schedule​

The commission has stated that voting across 630 polling stations will begin at 7 am and conclude at 3 pm on April 2, 2025.

If repolling is required in any constituency, the Election Commission has scheduled it for the following day, April 3, 2025.

Counting of votes will be conducted on April 4, 2025.

Voter Demographics​

A total of 4,45,586 voters are eligible to cast their votes in the elections. Among these voters, there are 2,29,394 women and 11 others.

Model Code of Conduct Effective Immediately​

The Election Commission has also announced that the model code of conduct comes into immediate effect following today's election date announcement. This means all political parties and candidates must adhere strictly to guidelines ensuring a fair electoral process.
