
Today, Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone for a new campus of the 10th Assam Police Battalion in Kachutoli, Kamrup Metro district. The project costs over 260 crore rupees. Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Union Minister for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal were also present at the event.
Addressing a public gathering, the Union Minister stated that Assam would become an industrial hub of India within five years. He also informed that the Centre had allocated sufficient funds for infrastructure development in the State. The Home Minister said that the law and order situation significantly improved in the State during the 10 years of the BJP's rule, and large industrial houses are now turning to Assam.
The Union Minister criticized the Congress party for neglecting Assam during their government, and informed that the Centre had allocated over 15 lakh crore rupees to Assam in the last 10 years. Earlier in the day, the Union Home Minister attended the 87th Raising Day parade of the CRPF as the Chief Guest in Guwahati.
