Authorities Deny Shortage, Calm Residents in Poonch.webp

Panic gripped the border district of Poonch today following rumors of a potential shortage of petroleum products in the wake of ongoing tensions in Iran. Long queues were seen outside petrol pumps and LPG distribution centers as residents rushed to refuel their vehicles and stock up on cooking gas.

Eyewitnesses reported a heavy rush at multiple fuel stations, with people standing in queues for hours amid fears of a supply disruption. The situation led to temporary congestion and chaos in several parts of the town.

However, authorities have categorically denied any shortage of petroleum products in the district. Assistant Controller, Legal Metrology, Pushkar Raj, clarified that there is no disruption in the supply of petrol, diesel, or LPG in Poonch.

"There is no shortage of petroleum products in Poonch. The panic has been triggered by rumors and misinformation. People should not believe such false claims," he said.

He further warned that the district administration will take strict action against those spreading rumors and engaging in black marketing.

He urged the public to remain calm and rely only on official information, assuring that adequate supplies are available and the situation is fully under control.
