The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has launched a key initiative to improve aviation safety and navigation standards in the country. In a social media post, AAI stated that its Flight Inspection Team successfully calibrated critical air navigation systems, including the Instrument Landing System (ILS), Doppler VHF Omnidirectional Range (DVOR), and Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI), at the Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi. The Authority explained that these systems are essential for providing accurate guidance to aircraft during landing and approach, particularly in low visibility conditions.
The calibration exercise was conducted in-house by specially trained experts using advanced onboard calibration equipment, along with ground-based systems. AAI stated that this reflects its commitment to precision, reliability, and operational safety in the aviation sector.
