REASI, FEBRUARY 22: The Department of Horticulture organized an awareness camp in Mahore, under the supervision of Chief Horticulture Officer Reasi, Rajinder Sharma.
Director Horticulture Jammu, Gul Syed, attended as the chief guest, along with Assistant Director Sunil Gupta and other officials. Farmers were briefed on key schemes, including JKCIP, HADP, and MIDH, aimed at increasing productivity and income.
Later, the Director visited the Tuli Nursery and participated in a tree planting drive, planting high-value walnut (Chandler) saplings in the orchard of beneficiary Akhlaq Choudhary. He encouraged farmers to adopt modern practices such as high-density and UHD cultivation to strengthen the horticulture sector.
The camp concluded with a session where farmers' queries were addressed.
