New Delhi, March 17 The Fair Trade regulator, CCI, approved Bentley Asia Holdings II Pte Ltd's proposal to acquire an additional stake in Baby Memorial Hospital on Tuesday.

Baby Memorial Hospital Ltd (BMH) is a multispecialty healthcare network operating several hospitals across various cities in India.

"The proposed transaction involves Bentley acquiring certain additional shares in BMH," the Competition Commission of India (CCI) said in a release.

Bentley Asia Holdings II Pte Ltd (Bentley) is a private company limited, incorporated under the laws of Singapore.

The competition watchdog also approved the subsequent acquisition by BMH of certain shares in Unimed Health Care Pvt Ltd (Unimed) through a secondary purchase.

"The Commission approves the acquisition of (i) certain shares in Baby Memorial Hospital by Bentley Asia Holdings II Pte. Ltd; and (ii) the acquisition by BMH of certain shares in Unimed Health Care Private Limited," the regulator said in a post on X.

Unimed operates two multispecialty hospitals in Hyderabad under the brand name Star Hospitals. It provides a wide range of medical and surgical services, including cardiology, neurology, orthopaedics, emergency and critical care.

Deals exceeding a certain threshold require approval from the regulator, which monitors unfair business practices and promotes fair competition in the market.
