
Kathmandu, March 26 On the eve of his swearing-in as the new Prime Minister of Nepal, Balendra Shah 'Balen' released his new song video, 'Jai Mahakali', on Thursday.
The 35-year-old rapper-turned-politician was elected on Thursday as the leader of the Parliamentary party of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), paving his way to become Nepal's youngest elected prime minister on Friday.
The senior leader of the RSP, which won a landslide victory in the March 5 poll, will also be the first person from the Madhes region to hold the top executive post in the country.
Balen's new video song features scenes from his election campaign. The song aims to spread the message of patriotism and national unity.
The song attracted 1.5 lakh viewers in just two hours of its release on YouTube. The video was actually released a decade ago, but it was made public on March 26 with more additions from his election campaign.
In addition to this, Balen is also releasing two other new songs very soon, sources said.
