Ballia (UP), March 22 In what appears to be a suicide case, the body of a 14-year-old girl, who left her home four days ago after an argument with her family, was found under a bridge in the Saryu River here, police said on Sunday.
Passersby spotted the body under the Manjhi Ghat bridge in Chand Diyar village in Ballia district and alerted the police, they said.
Local SHO Rajendra Prasad said the deceased has been identified as Khushi Yadav (14), a resident of Karan Chhapra village, who left her home on March 19 after an argument with her family.
It is suspected that she jumped from the bridge on the same day, the officer said, adding that police have launched an investigation after sending the body for autopsy.
