
Ballia (UP), March 14 A case has been registered against a man for allegedly abducting a newly-wed woman from her in-laws' home here, police said on Saturday.
According to police, the woman had only been married for 18 days when the accused allegedly took her away.
Based on a complaint filed by Raj Kumar Singh, a resident of Tola Shivnarayan Rai village, an FIR was registered on Friday against Rahul Singh for allegedly enticing the married woman for sexual relations, officials said.
The FIR states that Raj Kumar married Vandana Singh on February 19. After the wedding, she moved to her husband's home.
Police said that on March 10 at around 4 pm, Rahul allegedly came from the woman's native village and took her away on a motorcycle.
Bairia SHO Rajendra Prasad Singh said that police have registered a case against the accused, and further investigation is underway.
