Balochistan Insurgency: 15 Terrorists Killed in Separate Operations.webp

Islamabad, March 7 Pakistani security forces have killed 15 terrorists in two separate operations based on intelligence in the restive Balochistan province, the army said on Saturday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan army, the operations were conducted on Thursday after reports of militants' presence.

The first operation took place in the Harnai district of the province.

During the operation, troops effectively engaged the "Khawarij" hideout, the army said, adding that after intense fighting, 12 terrorists were killed.

The Pakistani government has designated the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as "Fitna al-Khawarij" in 2024, referring to a group in earlier Islamic history that was involved in violence.

In another operation based on intelligence conducted in the Basima district, forces tracked the presence of terrorists and effectively engaged them using weapons of mixed calibre.

After intense fighting, three terrorists were killed, the army said.

It also added that weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the slain terrorists.

Balochistan has been facing a low-level insurgency, and militants frequently target security forces and government infrastructure. The Pakistani government accuses the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and the TTP of these attacks.
