President Mohammed Shahabuddin will administer the oath to the new cabinet members at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad.

Rahman's Bangladesh Nationalist Party has won 209 out of 297 seats, while the right-wing Jamaat-e-Islami secured 68 seats in the 13th Parliamentary elections.

Speaker of the lower house of the Indian Parliament, Om Birla, will represent the country at the swearing-in of Bangladesh's Prime Minister-designate, Tarique Rahman, in Dhaka.

The Speaker's participation will underscore the deep and enduring friendship between the people of India and Bangladesh, reaffirming India's steadfast commitment to the democratic values that bind our two nations.

Meanwhile, hours before the swearing-in ceremony, Bangladesh's interim leader, Muhammad Yunus, announced his resignation in a televised address to the nation, formally ending the caretaker administration that governed after the 2024 political upheaval.

In his farewell address, Yunus urged the country to safeguard the democratic space that had reopened during the transition period.
