
Mumbai, March 20 State-owned Bank of Baroda announced on Friday a credit line on the popular Unified Payments Interface platform for members of women self-help groups.
Customers holding Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana accounts will be able to access the overdraft facility of Rs 5,000 without visiting a branch and directly pay merchants using the credit facility, according to an official statement.
The lender said it is the first bank to operationalize the facility, which has been launched in association with a number of entities, including NPCI and IBA.

The country's largest IT services company, TCS, announced on Friday that it has extended its partnership with aviation services-focused Swissport for five more years.
TCS, which has been working with Swissport for a decade, will continue to modernize Swissport's technology landscape and scale AI-enabled services, data platforms, and hybrid cloud operations, according to a statement.

*RBI approves merger of Lalbaug Co-op with Akhand Anand Co-operative Bank
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday approved the voluntary merger of Lalbaug Co-operative Bank with Akhand Anand Co-operative Bank.
Starting March 23, all branches of Lalbaug Co-operative Bank will operate as branches of Akhand Anand Co-operative Bank, according to an official statement.
