
Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), March 11 Six masked men have looted Rs 13 lakh from a branch of a nationalized bank in the East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, police said on Wednesday.
The incident took place on Tuesday in the Baharagora police station area, when the accused entered the bank during lunchtime and robbed the amount at gunpoint, a police officer said, adding that they also snatched gold chains, mobile phones, and wallets from the staff.
However, they abandoned the mobile phones en route.
Ghatsila Sub-divisional Police Officer Ajit Kumar Kujjur said that six people robbed the bank and fled on motorcycles.
Police are examining CCTV footage and questioning local shopkeepers, he said, adding that some clues have been found and the accused will be arrested soon.
