
Chandigarh, March 29 Three labourers were killed after a house under repair collapsed in the village of Pharwahi in Punjab's Barnala early Sunday morning, police said.
The three labourers were trapped and injured in the incident, according to Sadar SHO Jagjit Singh, who added that the owner had contracted out the repair work to a contractor.
The house was undergoing repairs, which included removing and rebuilding the structure after it had sustained structural damage, according to some local residents.
A wall collapsed, causing the house to fall and trapping the three labourers under the debris, the SHO said, adding that they were rescued and taken to the civil hospital in Barnala, where they were declared dead.
Further action will be taken after taking statements from the families of the deceased, he said.
