Barpeta District Prepares for Polling with Remote Station Deployment.webp

Polling teams have been sent to remote booths in Barpeta.

In Assam, polling officials have been dispatched today to remote and geographically challenging polling stations in the Barpeta district. A total of 123 polling stations are located in difficult areas, prompting early deployment of personnel from the EVM distribution centre set up at Madhab Choudhury College. The Barpeta district comprises four Assembly constituencies — Barpeta, Chenga, Mandia, and Pakabetbari — with a total of 1,121 polling stations. Of these remote booths, 117 are in Chenga and six are in Mandia. District Commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha stated that most of these stations are located in char areas along the Brahmaputra river, necessitating the early departure of polling teams.
