March 11, New Delhi – A total of 108 Maoists surrendered in Bastar, marking a major success in Chhattisgarh as they return to mainstream society.
These Maoists, belonging to the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee, surrendered under the “Poona Margem” (Rehabilitation to Rejuvenation) initiative.
The government had announced a total reward of approximately ₹3.95 crore for information leading to their capture.
To eliminate the presence of Maoists in Bastar, India's Home Minister Amit Shah has set a deadline of March 31, 2026.
Security forces and officials are continuously implementing various strategies. While some Maoists are being neutralized through security operations, others are being encouraged to surrender and rejoin mainstream society.
