
Beed, March 14 Two men are on the run after a case was registered against them for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in Beed district, Maharashtra, police said on Saturday.
The incident took place in the Parli Vaijnath tehsil about three months ago, an official said.
According to the first information report, one of the accused lured the girl to a house. Once inside, the second accused tied her up and gagged her. She was then sexually assaulted, as per the FIR.
The accused had threatened to kill the girl and her parents if she spoke about the assault. Unable to bear the trauma any longer, she recently told her family about it. The family filed a police complaint on Friday, the official said.
A case has been registered against the two under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The investigation has been handed over to the Pink Squad (all-women police unit) from Ambajogai,” he said.
