April 05, New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed an election rally in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, on Sunday, intensifying his attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC).
Alleging corruption and "cut-money" practices by the state government, PM Modi asserted that a BJP-led government would ensure development and take strict action against infiltration in the state.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said, "This time in Bengal, there is the fear of the TMC on one hand, and on the other, you have faith in the BJP to counter it. There is the fear of the TMC's cut-money and corruption on one hand, and on the other, there is faith in the BJP to accelerate development. There is the fear of foreigners being settled here through infiltration on one hand, and on the other, there is faith in the BJP to stop infiltration and expel all infiltrators from Bengal."
The rally marks a key moment in the BJP's campaign as political activity intensifies ahead of the Assembly elections in the state.
