
Kolkata, April 3 The IMD on Friday forecast thunderstorms in some districts of West Bengal starting from April 5, which is likely to provide relief to citizens from the prevailing hot and humid weather.
Hot and humid weather is expected to continue in some southern districts of Bengal until Saturday due to dry westerly winds, the IMD said.
"With favorable wind patterns and moisture influx from the Bay of Bengal starting from Sunday, the weather is likely to become cooler in the coming week," the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
Temperatures are likely to gradually fall by three to four degrees in the districts starting from Sunday, it said.
Thunderstorms are also likely to occur in one or two places in the northern districts of Bengal, with the intensity being higher in the sub-Himalayan districts of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Cooch Behar until April 8, it said.
