Bengaluru, March 23 The Bengaluru Traffic Police launched an investigation on Monday after a video surfaced online showing three young people triple-riding on a two-wheeler and driving "recklessly" on the city's streets, officials said.
The incident, which occurred in BTM Layout here, has sparked outrage on social media, with the video going viral due to concerns about public safety.
Taking note of the video, police said strict action will be taken against such irresponsible driving and violations of traffic rules.
In the video clip, one of the pillion riders, wearing a helmet, can be seen purportedly drinking from a beer bottle while the trio speeds through a busy road late at night, further violating traffic norms.
The rider and the other pillion rider were not seen wearing helmets.
The vehicle, bearing a Karnataka registration number, is under police scrutiny.
Police said they are verifying the details of the incident and working to identify those involved.
"Strict action will be taken against the violators, and a case will be registered," a senior police officer said.
