
In a unique initiative to understand the vulnerable and rapidly changing climate in the Indian Himalayan region, scientists and research scholars from various Indian and international universities reached out to tribal communities residing in the high-altitude slopes of J&K's Bhaderwah valley. The delegation, on the second day of the workshop titled "Human-Environment Interactions in the Indian Himalayan Region Amidst the Climate Crisis," organized by the Institute of Mountain Environment, Bhaderwah Campus, met with members of the Gaddi community in the village of Duggi-Dandi. Dr. Chhering Tandup, the coordinator of the workshop, stated that the primary aim of the workshop is to develop corrective measures to address the vulnerable climate change in the Indian Himalayan region.
