The government has extended the Bharat Tribes Fest 2026 until April 5th, in response to overwhelming public interest. The Ministry of Tribal Affairs announced that this decision aims to further strengthen market access and livelihood opportunities for tribal artisans, entrepreneurs, and Self-Help Groups across the country. As part of the extended program, TRIFED will organize a Van Dhan Conclave tomorrow. The conclave will be inaugurated by Tribal Affairs Minister Durgadas Uikey. It will feature five thematic sessions focusing on sustainable livelihoods, value addition of Minor Forest Produce, market linkages, and strengthening tribal entrepreneurship.
The Ministry stated that the extension will allow artisans and producers to continue direct engagement with consumers, ensuring better price realization and wider visibility for tribal products. It will also provide an extended opportunity for visitors to experience the diverse cultural expressions of Tribal India. The festival, organized at Sunder Nursery, New Delhi, began on the 18th of this month and has emerged as a vibrant national platform showcasing the country's rich tribal heritage, including traditional crafts, handlooms, cuisine, and enterprise. The Ministry informed that the event has recorded significant attendance, with participation from over a thousand tribal artisans, Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs), tribal chefs, and cultural troupes representing diverse regions of the country.
