
Thane, February 28 A fire broke out at a dyeing unit in an industrial area in Thane district, Maharashtra, and there were no casualties in the incident, civic officials said on Saturday.
The fire erupted after midnight on the premises in the Khoka compound near Kalyan Naka in Bhiwandi town, according to Yasin Tadvi, chief of the civic disaster management cell.
Four fire engines from Bhiwandi and one from Kalyan were deployed to control the blaze, and the operation continued throughout the night, he said.
There were no casualties in the incident, the official said, adding that the cause of the fire is still under investigation and further details are pending.
