Bhubaneswar, March 16 At least three people were killed and one person was injured when a speeding car hit pedestrians and fell into a roadside ditch on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Monday, police said.
The incident occurred near the Uttara area, under the jurisdiction of the Pipili police station, when the vehicle was traveling towards Puri on NH-316, a police officer said.
The car, which fell into the ditch after hitting two women from behind, was completely damaged. The two women and the driver, along with a passenger, were taken to the hospital.
The two women and the driver were pronounced dead at the hospital, while the passenger is currently receiving treatment, he added.
