
New Delhi, March 22 The Congress extended greetings to the people on Bihar Day, with Rahul Gandhi describing the state as India's repository of knowledge.
"Bihar is India's treasure trove of knowledge and our pride – a state that has always guided the nation with its rich history and culture."
"Heartfelt greetings to all the residents of the state on Bihar Day," the leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha said in Hindi on X.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge called Bihar a sacred land of democracy and a symbol of the tradition of knowledge and civilization.
"From this very land, Mahatma Gandhi gave a new direction to the voice of the countrymen against the British regime."
"On this auspicious occasion of Bihar Day, heartfelt greetings to all the people of the state," he said in Hindi on X.
"We hope that all of you continue to make your invaluable contribution to the progress and development of the nation," the Congress chief added.
Bihar Day is observed to commemorate the formation of the state on March 22, 1912, when the British carved Bihar out of Bengal.
