
Patna, March 20 Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary expressed his grief on Friday over the death of the son of a JD(U) MLA in the Nawada district.
Akhilesh Yadav died in a road accident in his native Pathra English village, police said.
"The untimely death of Akhilesh Yadav, son of JD(U) MLA Vibha Devi and former state minister Raj Ballabh Prasad, in a road accident, is deeply distressing," Chaudhary said in a post on X.
He also prayed for the peace of the departed soul and strength for the bereaved family.
"Although we have not received any official information yet, it has come to light through sources that the MLA's son died during treatment in Patna," Nawada SP Abhinav Dhiman said earlier in the day.
The Nawada Town SHO confirmed that the accident occurred near the victim's residence in the district.
According to locals, the SUV driven by Yadav collided with a tree in Pathra English village.
Since his condition was critical, he was taken to a private hospital in Patna for treatment, they added.
