
Bihar Sharif, March 19 Two engineering students were killed and three were injured when their speeding car fell into a roadside ditch in Nalanda district, Bihar, on Thursday, police said.
The incident occurred near Gaudhapur More, under the Chandi police station area of Nalanda district.
The deceased have been identified as Ashish Kumar and Rahul Kumar, both students of Nalanda Engineering College.
Chandi Station House Officer (SHO) Suman Kumar said, "Initial investigations reveal that the accident occurred due to speeding and loss of control. Further investigation is underway."
After the accident, police rescued the injured persons with the help of locals and took them to Chandi Referral Hospital, where two were declared dead, and the others were admitted to the hospital.
Kumar said that both bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination to Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital.
According to eyewitnesses, the car was speeding towards Chandi when the driver lost control, and the vehicle fell into a ditch along the roadside.
The accident was so intense that the car was badly damaged, they added.
