
Patna, March 19 Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit issued a series of directives on Thursday to ensure transparent distribution of LPG cylinders, officials said.
Chairing a high-level review meeting, Amrit asked officers to keep district control rooms fully operational to address public grievances promptly.
The meeting was attended by DGP Vinay Kumar, along with all district magistrates, superintendents of police, and representatives of major oil and gas companies.
According to a statement issued by the Cabinet Secretariat, Amrit directed District Public Relations Officers (DPROs) to hold daily press briefings at 3 pm to disseminate accurate information and curb rumors.
He ordered intensive raids in border districts to check illegal storage and black marketing of LPG cylinders, warning that strict legal action would be taken against any irregularities.
Amrit urged people not to pay heed to misleading information regarding gas supplies and assured that the administration is fully committed to maintaining normal supply across the state.
Food and Consumer Protection Department Secretary Abhay Singh made a presentation on the current distribution status and backlog of LPG cylinders across districts, the statement said.
