Patna, March 15 Three people were killed and injured by heavy vehicles in two separate road accidents in the districts of Buxar and Gaya in Bihar, officials said on Sunday.

A truck driver was run over by a lorry on Saturday night following a dispute in the Naya Bhojpur police station area, they said.

The deceased has been identified as Pankaj Yadav, a resident of Mau district in Uttar Pradesh.

Naya Bhojpur In-charge (Outpost) Chandan Kumar said, "The incident occurred following a minor dispute between the two drivers over overtaking after the 'no-entry' was opened".

The truck involved in the incident has been seized, and the accused driver, who is also from UP, has been arrested, he added.

"The body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Police are investigating the case," Kumar said.

Two people were killed and injured by a tractor-trailer near Bata More in the Gaya district.

The deceased, identified as Ashutosh Kumar Singh (24) and Ramesh Kumar (35) from Bhojpur and Muzaffarpur districts, respectively, had gone there to appear for a court recruitment exam, officials said.

The tractor has been seized, and the driver has been arrested, they added.

Gaya district SP Sushil Kumar said, "Legal action will be taken against the driver. An investigation is going on to determine whether or not he was driving as per the rules."

Police said the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and further investigation is underway.
