Bijnor (UP), March 14 A 36-year-old police constable stationed at the Prosecution Office here allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the Ganga Barrage, officials said on Saturday.
Officials said that divers recovered the body of Nitin Vats near Gate Number 4 of the barrage. His motorcycle was also found at the barrage.
Circle Officer Sangram Singh said that the incident occurred on Friday when Vats jumped into the Ganga Barrage.
A post-mortem examination of the body is being conducted, the CO said, and added that the police are investigating the reasons behind the incident.
