
New Delhi, April 7 The Pakistan High Commission on Tuesday said it had issued over 2,800 visas to pilgrims from India to facilitate their participation in the Baisakhi celebrations.
Under a bilateral protocol on visits to religious shrines, Sikh and Hindu pilgrims from India visit Pakistan every year. Pakistani pilgrims also visit India every year under the protocol.
"On the occasion of the Baisakhi celebrations, the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has issued over 2,800 visas to pilgrims from India to participate in the annual festival scheduled to be held in Pakistan from April 10-19," the High Commission said.
"The pilgrims would, among other places, visit Gurdwara Panja Sahib, Gurdwara Nankana Sahib, and Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib," it said.
Saad Ahmad Warraich, the Charge d'Affaires at the Pakistan High Commission, wished the pilgrims a "fulfilling and spiritually rewarding" stay in Pakistan.
