New Delhi, May 11—The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday emphasized that India has fundamentally altered the rules of engagement with Pakistan, citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's strong and decisive leadership.
This assertion came after India and Pakistan reached an understanding on Saturday to cease all military actions across land, air, and sea, following a tense four-day standoff marked by cross-border drone and missile strikes.
In a statement on X, BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari highlighted that Pakistan "pleaded for an understanding" after suffering significant losses. He further stated, "In just 72 hours, under the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has rewritten the rules of engagement with Pakistan."
Bhandari went on to assert that India had effectively neutralized Pakistan's "nuclear bluff" through strategic actions. He claimed India struck deep inside Pakistani military zones, from Lahore to Rawalpindi, and dismantled terror headquarters of militant groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Munirke and Bahawalpur.
"The message was clear: no inch of Pakistani territory is beyond India's reach. We crippled Pakistan economically by halting the Indus Water Treaty," he said, emphasizing India's diplomatic isolation of Pakistan while exposing its terror network on the global stage.
Bhandari also pointed out that in the current global context—where conventional wars, such as those between Russia and Ukraine, or the US and Taliban, have failed to achieve strategic objectives—India, under Modi's leadership, has adopted a strategy that he described as "Chanakya Neeti" – a smart, swift, and sovereign approach.
"This is not strategic restraint. This is strategic dominance. The fight against Pakistani terror is far from over," he concluded.
