Bhubaneswar, February 17 Ahead of the upcoming three-tier panchayat elections, the Odisha BJP launched a training program for its workers in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
The program, titled "Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya Training Campaign," was held at the party's state headquarters and attended by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, state BJP president Manmohan Samal, state in-charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar, MLAs, and other party officials.
Noting that training is a regular activity for the BJP, state general secretary Biranchi Narayan Tripathy said the objective of the program is to develop the physical, mental, intellectual, and political skills of the workers. However, he clarified that it has nothing to do with any election.
"This year, training programs will be organized for workers, MLAs, and MPs from all seven fronts across 1,052 mandals and 37 organizational districts, from the district to the state level," he said.
Tripathy said the training camps would emphasize discipline, principles, and ideals for nation-building.
"Workers will be taught to prioritize the nation, the organization, and then themselves," he said.
