New Delhi, February 22 Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly advocated for the use of "indigenous" products during festivals on Sunday, urging people to always "promote local" products.
Modi said that the holy month of Ramzan is currently underway and wished everyone well for the occasion.
Holi is also approaching soon, which means that a time filled with colors, gulal, and laughter is about to arrive, he added.
"May you all celebrate all festivals happily with your family and loved ones. And yes, always remember to promote local products," Modi said.
The Prime Minister said that many foreign-made products have entered the celebrations of Holi, or even other festivals.
"Keep them away from festivals, and also from Holi. Embrace "indigenous" products. When you buy "indigenous" products, you also contribute to the campaign to make the country self-reliant," he said.
