
Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu today inaugurated Amazon Air's inaugural cargo flight from Delhi to Guwahati, enhancing air cargo connectivity for the North-East region. In a social media post, the Minister stated that this dedicated air cargo service will significantly reduce shipment times to the region and support farmers, artisans, and entrepreneurs in the North-East by connecting them to both domestic and global markets. Mr. Naidu also mentioned that the air cargo service to Guwahati is a testament to the growing business opportunities in Guwahati and the overall economic activity in Assam. The Minister further added that currently, every state in the North-East has an operational airport, with the number of airports having increased from 9 in 2014 to 16 currently. Mr. Naidu also stated that the government is focused on strengthening air cargo infrastructure in the North-East to facilitate the wider market access for local horticultural and perishable products, thereby advancing the vision of "Vocal for Local."
