
District Development Commissioner of Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma, today chaired a review meeting of the District Water and Sanitation Mission, Jal Jeevan Mission, and Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) to assess the progress of drinking water supply schemes in the district.
The DC directed the Jal Shakti Department to fix leaks in the existing water supply infrastructure and ensure a continuous supply of safe drinking water. He also emphasized the need for public awareness and efficient water conservation.
The Forest Department was asked to submit pending cases under the Forest Rights Act to facilitate the implementation of water supply schemes. Directions were also issued to strengthen water quality monitoring and ensure regular testing of drinking water.
The DC reviewed the status of Har Ghar Jal certification, progress under the Jal Jeevan Mission, and the activation of the citizen feedback module on the Meri Panchayat App.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Kishtwar Vinod Kumar Behnal, ACD Manoj Kumar, ACP Neeraj Sharma, DFO Marwah Vishal Chaudhary, and officers from the Jal Shakti Department.
