
The Indian Army has launched a porter recruitment drive in the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch, attracting a large number of local youth seeking employment opportunities. A total of 800 porter vacancies have been announced, prompting enthusiastic participation from candidates from various areas within the two districts.
As part of the recruitment process, candidates are undergoing physical fitness tests conducted by Army officials. Those who successfully pass the initial stage will proceed to the next phases of the selection process. The drive has seen a significant turnout, with many unemployed youth arriving at the recruitment venue with high hopes of securing a job.
Participants expressed their appreciation for the initiative, stating that such recruitment drives provide much-needed employment opportunities for the youth in the border districts. They also thanked the government and the Army for organizing the drive, saying that it offers them a chance to earn a livelihood while contributing to the support system of the armed forces.
