JAMMU, MARCH 28: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah stated that Karnah offers immense potential for border tourism, trekking, and homestays. The government is developing a comprehensive program to promote sustainable, local-level tourism in the region.
He emphasized the importance of focusing on homestays rather than large hotels, and highlighted initiatives such as the Tourist Cafeteria in Drangyari, the Winter Carnival 2023, and the Mega Yoga Festival 2024 in Teetwal, aimed at increasing tourist footfall and supporting local livelihoods. No cable car project is currently under consideration.
