Jammu, March 13 Security forces recovered a suspicious consignment, allegedly dropped by a Pakistani drone, near the International Border (IB) in the outskirts of Jammu city on Friday, officials said.
The yellow, plastic-packed consignment was recovered from an area along the IB in the RS Pura sector, they said.
Acting on the information, teams from the BSF and Police rushed to the spot, and the consignment was recovered around 11 am in a forward area following information from locals, officials added.
Preliminary reports indicated that the consignment was wrapped in a package weighing approximately 1.5 kilograms and was lying in the border area. The package has not yet been opened, they said.
Officials noted that, as a precautionary measure, the package will be examined using a metal detector and other safety protocols to rule out the presence of any explosive material before it is opened.
Further investigation and technical examination of the recovered consignment are underway, they said.
