Bridge Repair Support: Congress Delivers Boat to Jammu Community.webp

Jammu, March 15 The Jammu and Kashmir unit of the Congress provided a boat to residents of Katal Batal village in Nagrota tehsil on Sunday to facilitate movement across a river after a bridge in the area was damaged last year, disrupting connectivity.

Pradesh Congress Committee president Tariq Hameed Karra, Working President Raman Bhalla, and former minister Yogesh Sawhney visited the village and handed over the boat, a party spokesperson said.

The boat will be beneficial for the locals who were facing difficulties in commuting across the Katal Batal river following the destruction of the bridge connecting the Bhair Devta Shrine and the surrounding villages due to devastating floods in September last year.

Emphasizing that such initiatives demonstrate the party's commitment to public service, Karra said that the devotees and the locals had been facing inconvenience for quite some time, and it was heartening to see that their concerns were addressed through the efforts of Sawhney.

"Public representatives must not only make promises but also ensure that those promises are fulfilled in a timely manner, as trust between the people and their leaders is built through consistent and sincere action," he said.

Sawhney, who is also the District President of Jammu (Urban), said he decided to arrange the boat after interacting with residents and devotees.
