BRS Issues Show Cause Notice to Former MLA After Arrest.webp

Hyderabad, March 17 The BRS issued a showcause notice to its former MLA, Pilot Rohith Reddy, who was arrested along with two others following an alleged drug bust at a farmhouse in Moinabad on the city's outskirts two days ago.

Soma Bharat Kumar, General Secretary (Disciplinary Affairs) of the BRS, who issued the showcause notice, asked Rohith Reddy to refrain from party activities until a final decision is made on the matter.

Bharat Kumar said the allegations against Rohith Reddy have damaged the party's reputation.

The BRS, as a responsible political party, is committed to following the laws of the land and moral values, and opposes any involvement in drug consumption, he said.

Observing that the BRS takes the allegations against Rohith Reddy seriously, Bharat Kumar said that, as per the directives of party president K Chandrasekhar Rao, the former MLA should submit a clear and comprehensive reply within seven days of receiving the showcause notice.

If Rohith Reddy fails to submit a satisfactory reply before the deadline, disciplinary action will be taken against him as per the party's constitution, Bharat Kumar said.

Rohith Reddy is currently under judicial remand in the case.
