The three-day event, organized at the Mahaparinirvana site of Gautama Buddha from March 31 to April 2, aimed to promote Uttar Pradesh as a global Buddhist tourism hub and attract investment in the sector.

According to a press statement, over 2,300 participants, including monks, scholars, and policymakers, attended the conclave, along with more than 300 delegates from Thailand, Japan, Myanmar, Bhutan, and Nepal.

Additional Chief Secretary Amrit Abhijat said the state's Buddhist circuit is growing, with over 8.2 million visitors recorded across six major sites in 2025.
