Budget Session Resumes with Key Legislation Focus.webp

New Delhi, April 2 The Budget Session of Parliament will resume on April 16 after a brief recess to pass bills that increase the number of Lok Sabha seats from 543 to 816, in order to implement the women's reservation law as soon as possible.

Sources said that both Houses will reconvene for either two or three days to consider the proposed legislations.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, while speaking in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, said that the House would meet again soon to consider a key piece of legislation.

"We have certain bills and important issues, and we have shared this with the opposition as well. We are going to have a very important bill in the next two-three weeks," Rijiju said.

According to the government's schedule, the House was scheduled to adjourn sine die (for an indefinite period).
