
Bokaro, March 27 Six people were injured in burns on Friday after a religious flag came into contact with a high-voltage electric wire during a Ram Navami procession in Bokaro, Jharkhand, police said.
The incident occurred in Khetko village, under the jurisdiction of the Petarwar police station, when one of the flags carried by devotees came into contact with the overhead wire, they said.
"The injured were taken to the Bokaro Thermal Power Station hospital. They were then referred to another medical facility in Bokaro for better treatment," said Raju Munda, the Officer in Charge of the Petarwar police station.
Several processions are organized by devotees across the state on the occasion of Ram Navami every year.
