C.P. Radhakrishnan Observes Cultural Traditions and University Ceremony in J&K.webp

Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan arrived in Srinagar yesterday on a two-day visit to Jammu & Kashmir. He was warmly welcomed at Srinagar International Airport on his first visit to the Union Territory after assuming office. Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Health & Education Minister Sakeena Itoo, and other dignitaries received the Vice-President at the airport. A report:

A formal reception and Guard of Honour were accorded to Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan upon his arrival at Srinagar International Airport. He also attended a cultural programme at Lok Bhavan in Srinagar last evening. The programme beautifully showcased the traditional folk dances and music of Jammu and Kashmir.

Today, the Vice-President is scheduled to be the Chief Guest at the 21st Convocation Ceremony of the University of Kashmir. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Vice-Chancellor of Kashmir University, Prof Nilofer Khan, and a large number of dignitaries, academics, senior officials from the Administration, judiciary, police, as well as people from various fields, will also be present.

Meanwhile, the Administration has put in place robust security arrangements in Srinagar and other parts of the region.
