
New Delhi, April 10 The DGFT, the commerce ministry's arm, on Friday announced a detailed procedure for the import of calcined petroleum coke (CPC) for use in the aluminum industry.
Pet coke is used for fuel purposes.
In a public notice, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said that applications are invited for the allocation of quantities for the import of CPC for use in the aluminum industry and raw petroleum coke for CPC manufacturing for the period 2026-27.
The quantities will be allocated based on the recommendations of an Exim facilitation committee, it said.
In a separate notification, DGFT said that the requirement for a certificate of inspection from the Export Inspection Council (EIC)/Export Inspection Agencies (EIAs) for rice exports is limited to members of the European Union, Iceland, the UK, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland.
"Exports to other European countries are exempt from this requirement for six months," it said.
