Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav announced today that the Great Indian Bustard (GIB) project has entered its fourth year of its captive breeding program, with the hatching of two new chicks this week, bringing the total number of birds in captivity to 70. He stated that the chicks were hatched at the Rajasthan Conservation Breeding Centre. Sharing this information on social media, Mr. Yadav said that this is a significant milestone for the species' conservation efforts, achieved under the GIB project. He further added that some of the chicks bred this year will be released into the wild, marking a new beginning for the project.
