New Delhi, March 18 The Enforcement Task Force (ETF) of the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) held its 127th meeting to review enforcement and inspection activities in the National Capital Region (NCR) and surrounding areas from February 19 to March 13.

The meeting was held on Tuesday.

During this period, flying squads inspected key sectors contributing to air pollution, including industrial units, construction and demolition activities, road dust, diesel generator sets, municipal solid waste incidents, and biomass burning.

"A total of 79 inspection reports were received. Closure proposals have been made for 14 units, sealing proposals have been made for 27 diesel generator sets, and show cause notices (SCNs) have been issued to 20 units," an official said.

The ETF also reviewed sectoral enforcement actions related to road dust management, including inspections conducted across zones maintained by multiple agencies such as the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).

As of Tuesday, cumulatively, "a total of 26,498 units/ projects/entities have been inspected by the flying squads of the commission. Based on these inspections, 1,743 closure directions have been issued for non-compliance… out of these, 1,317 resumption orders have been issued upon verification of compliance by the concerned units," the official said.
