New Delhi, February 18 State-owned SAIL has sought details from the fair trade regulator, CCI, regarding a notice related to alleged cartelization by steel manufacturers, a company official said on Wednesday.
There is a notice regarding the matter, but the company has no details available, the official said, who preferred not to be named.
While noting that the CCI notice mentioned suspicion of cartelization, he said that it would be difficult to comment without details on how the regulator reached the conclusion.
"Since no details are available from CCI, we have approached the court and CCI," the official said.
Earlier this month, the government informed the Lok Sabha that the Competition Commission of India (CCI) is investigating the alleged cartelization by steel manufacturers, and the investigation report has been shared with the concerned parties to allow them to provide their objections and suggestions in accordance with the competition law.
