Srinagar, April 9 PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti welcomed the ceasefire between the US and Iran on Thursday, calling it a significant and positive step towards peace and stability in the region.
She recalled the vision of former J-K chief minister and PDP founder Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that solutions would come through dialogue and not force or the barrel of a gun, and emphasised that this philosophy remains the most relevant path for ensuring peace and stability in J-K.
"The ceasefire is a significant and positive step towards peace and stability. War has never been a solution, and lasting peace can only be achieved through sustained dialogue and meaningful engagement," Mehbooba said, addressing a party event in Kulgam district in south Kashmir.
She urged her party workers to remain united, resilient, and steadfast in the face of ongoing challenges.
She stressed the importance of strengthening connections with local communities and actively engaging with them to address their concerns while upholding the party's core ideology.
The PDP president highlighted the need for collective efforts to promote peace, unity, and development, and reiterated that her party has consistently stood for these principles.
She called upon party workers to stay closely connected with the people and spread the message of harmony, brotherhood, and progress across the region.
